Emma Gregory

Junior Faculty Advisor, Lime Group

Emma was first introduced to WYSE when she attended after her sophomore year of high school, in 2014. She returned as an intern in 2015 and as a Junior Faculty Advisor in 2017. Although her first love will always be the Orange Team, she’s excited to work with Keni on the Lime Team this year. Rather anti-climactically, Emma graduated in May of this year with a B.S. in Environmental Science from George Mason University, though her true passions lie in environmental justice and engaging people equitably in the conservation movement. During her time at Mason, Emma co-founded the Mason Environmental Justice Alliance and planned the first-ever Virginia Environmental Justice Summit, which was held virtually in March 2020. She also studied Conservation, Biodiversity, and Society at the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation and Natural Resource Conservation at the University of Oxford. Throughout her time at Mason, Emma interned at the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, The Nature Conservancy, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and Mason’s Office of Sustainability, which is A LOT of acronyms to remember. Currently she works as the Conservation Fellow with the Western Slope Conservation Center (another complex acronym) in Paonia, Colorado. Outside of her professional life, Emma loves eating pasta, trying new vegetarian recipes, drinking lattes, and wearing socks with cute animals or floral patterns on them. When you meet her, be prepared for her to ask you for your best lime-related pun. She’s super excited to join the WYSE team (and hear your puns)!
