Carter Masters
The Carter School trains the next generation of conflict resolvers at the cutting-edge of the field. Our interdisciplinary approach and dedication to experiential learning provides students with the analytical and practical skills they need to pursue the resolution of conflicts at all levels of society.

CEC Civil
The Sid and Reva Dewberry Department of Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering (CEIE) is an internationally recognized program leading the expansion of knowledge on developing sustainable cities and villages. CEIE offers MS and PhD programs educating students in the theory and practice of civil engineering science and design.
CEC Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science offers four MS programs in Computer Science, Information Security Assurance, and Software Engineering. These prepare students for all types of careers in the fast-growing and high-paying software industry. The Department also offers a PhD in Computer Science to prepare students for research careers, academic careers, and executive leadership positions in software companies and government agencies.
Data Analytics
The mission of the CEC multidisciplinary Data Analytics Engineering (DAEN) program is to provide knowledge and experience across a broad range of data analytics algorithms, tools, processes, and focus on a flexible and broad set of courses to be used by graduates for solving a wide range of real-world problems.
Digital Forensics
Digital forensics is a discipline addressing the collection, processing, and analysis of digital data for the purpose of verifying/validating the existence of an event of investigation, intelligence, cyber, or business interest. Telecommunications offers a blend of cutting-edge practice-oriented courses in networking engineering, cloud computing, wireless communications, and cyber security.
CEC Electrical
Computer engineering involves knowledge of hardware development for embedded and general-purpose systems, including those found in smartphones, cards, appliances, smart factories, satellites, and the Internet of Things. Electrical engineering covers a variety of topics including wireless communications, computer networks, signal processing, machine learning, control systems, robotics, bioengineering, space-based systems, nanoelectronics, and smart grid.
CEC IST
The mission of IST is to be a leader in producing high quality graduates by providing outstanding education in the emerging areas of information science and technology, leveraging innovative instructional methods, and with an emphasis on enhanced student experience. Its research areas focus on cyber security, machine learning, natural language processing, big data and data analytics, cyber human systems, and IT management.
CEC IT
The Information Technology (INFT) PhD is a signature degree of CEC. It focuses on science, engineering, and technology of information processing, an area of study ripe for innovation in a world driven more and more by data. The program accommodates a rigorous and cross-disciplinary PhD study and includes several concentrations to provide program focus.

Systems Engineering
SEOR offers a master’s degree in systems engineering, a master’s in operations research, and a PhD in systems engineering and operations research. SEOR offers a concentration in predictive analytics and a concentration in financial engineering within the school-wide master’s degree in data analytics engineering, as well as a dual master’s degree in operations research and master’s degree in statistical science jointly with the Statistics Department.
CHHS Bam programs
At the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), students are prepared to become future leaders in health care, public health and social services, acquiring the necessary skills to solve the challenges of a rapidly changing and culturally diverse health environment. By combining research with community-engagement efforts, students receive a rigorous and relevant education, while simultaneously making a valuable contribution to the region’s health care workforce.
CHSS Economics
George’s Mason’s nationally-ranked graduate economics programs are noted for their concentrations: experimental economics, Austrian economics, public choice, constitutional political economy, law and economics, and new institutional economics. We offer PHD and MA in Economics degrees and the Accelerated MA in Economics.
COS Academic Affairs
The College of Science at George Mason University blends traditional science education with sought-after programs in molecular medicine, climate dynamics, planetary science, forensic science, environmental studies, and geoinformation science to prepare students for exciting careers at the cutting edge of interdisciplinary scientific domains.
CVPA BAM
The College of Visual and Performing Arts offers several options for our undergraduate students to start working on their Master’s degree while completing their Bachelor’s degree. Completing one of these degree paths opens doors throughout the world of the visual and performing arts, where graduates can pursue careers as performing artists, entrepreneurs, gallery directors, curators, managing directors, professors, artistic directors, teachers, and more!
CHSS Crim
The department is internationally renowned for its applied research in policing, courts, and corrections, with particular emphases in organizational change, community partnerships, crime and place, rehabilitation and recidivism, and social justice. The department’s multidisciplinary faculty has a wide-range of expertise—including in law, sociology, psychology, political science, and criminology—which gives students a rich variety of perspectives.
COS Environmental Science
The Department of Environmental Science and Policy (ESP) at George Mason University believes that addressing existing and emerging environmental challenges requires diverse knowledge and expertise in natural science, social science, and public policy. Our faculty and programs reflect the need for a transdisciplinary approach to environmental science, conservation, and sustainability.

The master of science in nutrition program emphasizes a skillset tailored to expanding nutrition-related needs. Students learn to assess, evaluate, and intervene in the most current and relevant nutrition issues. The Graduate Program in Sociology focuses on linking public sociology and applied research. Public and applied sociology calls for sociologists to bring the distinct skills of the discipline to bear on matters of great public concern within academic, policy, and applied research settings.

The College of Science is dedicated to teaching students advanced skills in Chemistry and Biochemistry that will offer them in a career in the chemical/biochemical industries, academia, or the national laboratories. Students choose to specialize in Analytical, Environmental, Inorganic, Organic, or Physical Chemistry, or Biochemistry.
Health Services Research
This post-master’s multidisciplinary program focuses on analytical and data-driven methods for the examination of social, political, economic, and technological forces that affect the organization, financing, delivery, and regulation of health care services and public health systems. Students in the program acquire the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to creatively examine complex public health challenges and health system problems.
MAIS
Interdisciplinary Studies offers a home for students with broad academic interests who seek a master’s degree that will help them to create a better world. Our programs are multidisciplinary in nature, allowing students considerable freedom to tailor their degrees to their unique interests and professional goals, with many encouraging experiential learning opportunities in a professional setting of the student’s own choosing.
Social Work
Mason’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program is committed to student centered learning to prepare professional social workers with the skills and knowledge to advance human rights and to promote well-being by ensuring economic, environmental, and social justice for all persons and communities. Students can apply to a fully online or an on-campus program
Languages
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages offers interdisciplinary graduate programs in Spanish and French that allow you to deepen your cultural and linguistic expertise through courses on topics such as border studies, cultural studies, film, gender studies, heritage language education, history, language pedagogy, literature, second language acquisition, and sociolinguistics.

The Schar School of Policy and Government offers 7 master’s degree programs, 11 certificate programs, and 3 PhD programs. Most programs are taught at the Mason Square (Arlington) Campus. Programs offered include: Biodefense (master’s and PhD), Global Commerce and Policy, International Security, Public Administration, Public Policy (master’s and PhD), Political Science (master’s and PhD), and Organizational Development & Knowledge Management.

The School of Business develops career-ready business graduates through rigorous, stimulating business programs based on a global perspective, industry demand, and leadership.
