Threats to the biodiversity of our environment are ever-evolving. To counter these threats and protect our endangered species, the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) and George Mason University established the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation (SMSC).
Mason Global Gateway is a unique, innovative, and affordable global experience specifically designed for first-year students. Students selected for a Gateway can choose from among several prestigious institutions of higher learning around the world at which to study during their first-year spring semester.
The Global Education Office provides accessible international learning opportunities in more than 60 countries, ranging from one week to a full academic year. Many programs are led by Mason faculty and most majors will allow taking classes abroad.
Social Action & Integrative Learning (SAIL), housed within the School of Integrative Studies, is an evolving community of Mason students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and community partners who are active and passionate collaborators in effecting positive social change.
