The Food Recovery Network at George Mason University aims to recover leftover food from George Mason University’s dining halls, catering events, and food service venues and transport this otherwise food waste safely to places who feed people in need; use student volunteers to help transport the food, increasing their awareness to issues of food waste and hunger; raise awareness on campus about food waste, with a goal of reducing food waste as much as possible; and to recover food without inconveniencing or disturbing the proceedings of George Mason University’s dining services employees.
