The mission of the National Society of Black Women in Medicine at George Mason University is to empower and support Black women and students from underrepresented backgrounds who aspire to pursue careers in medicine and healthcare. We seek to create a welcoming community that promotes academic excellence, professional development, mentorship, leadership, service, and advocacy. Through meaningful connections, educational programming, and community engagement, we aim to help our members navigate their academic and professional journeys while increasing representation and advancing the presence of Black women in medicine and healthcare.
