The University of Alabama at Birmingham is an urban campus located in Downtown Birmingham. Our campus hosts five major hospitals that are some of our nation’s best healthcare facilities along with life-changing research. We offer unique majors that fit student’s future goals and dreams such as Biomedical Engineering Biomedical Sciences Digital Forensics Industrial Distribution Musical Theater along with five Joint School of Medicine Programs. Imagine being involved in state of the art research while watching our Division 1 Athletics with other UAB Blazers gathered from across the country and world in the middle of a foodie and technology city where innovation and growth are embraced.

UAB awards automatic merit based scholarships and has hundreds of scholarships, many that are specifically for underrepresented and first generation students through our BSMART scholarship portal, including the First Generation Scholar’s Fund, the William Randolph Hearst Foundation Scholarship and the Max Michael First Generation Endowed Scholarship.

UAB offers services for Latinx students through our Office of Student Multicultural and Diversity Programs as well as multiple student organizations dedicated to promoting Hispanic cultures at UAB. We also have a TRIO program at UAB that includes free tutoring, cultural enrichment opportunities, support in developing study skills, and assistance and advising from UAB staff.
