Virginia Tech is a comprehensive, four-year, public university with over 25,000 undergraduate students who choose from over 100 majors in eight colleges. Virginia Tech competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. There are over 900 student clubs and organizations on campus. Academic opportunities include the Honors College, Cooperative Education, and Study Abroad. The campus is located 38 miles southwest of Roanoke Va., on a plateau between the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains where students are surrounded by recreational opportunities including hiking, horseback riding, fishing, camping, boating, and swimming.
